Water is becoming more of a scarce resource throughout the world as people's water footprints are increasing.  Water is used for all types of things from the growing of fruits and vegetables to feeding livestock.  Even when you are conserving water at home, your water footprint can be high because of the food you eat or products you used.

Thankfully, there are new water footprint calculators to help you identify the areas where you can decrease use. The best one I have seen is H20 Conserve, http://www.h2oconserve.org.

They measure one's water footpring through a quick that takes only a few mintues to complete.  In turn, you get to identify which areas of your life are using the most amounts of water.
